When changing from one type of diet to another, it is important to transition slowly. It is gentler on your dog both physically and emotionally. We encourage you to mix small amounts of Doggie Diner meals with your dog’s current food over the course of 1-2 weeks. Dogs with sensitive stomachs may need to transition more slowly.

Like human beings, dogs need to eat a variety of foods to maintain a healthy, balanced diet. When feeding your dog homemade food with wholesome ingredients, the ingredients in each meal must be varied in order to supply all of the vitamins and minerals dogs require. We recommend a rotational diet with several different meals that provide your dog with the variety of foods she needs to be healthy and happy. We do not require that you order these specific combinations, but we do suggest that you ensure that your pet is eating a diet that is healthy and balanced.

Most dogs will delight in the transition to homemade food. But, like people, each dog has a unique personality, a unique physical profile, and unique nutritional needs. Some dogs are physically intolerant of certain foods, have or develop food allergies, or simply don’t like certain ingredients. Be sure to monitor your dog’s behavior during the transition to ensure that the new diet is fitting.
